Bundesquantenallianz founded

Today, the Federal Quantum Alliance („Bundesquantenallianz“)was founded, a cooperation of initially two federally-owned companies that will use the potential of quantum technologies.

DB Systel GmbH and Bundesdruckerei GmbH are thus giving the starting signal for an efficient exchange of experience and the joint development of projects to test the technology for industrial suitability.

The motivation for the Federal Quantum Alliance lies in several subject areas: Through shared experience with the technology, synergies are leveraged for all companies involved. In this way, the necessary experience is built up at an early stage. For comprehensive solutions, the alliance can participate in the definition of standards. When responsible for critical infrastructure in Germany, there are additional requirements.

The companies form a knowledge platform on which know-how is built up and shared. Experiences from memberships in related networks and projects complement this, so that another building block of the ecosystem for quantum technologies in Germany is created.

Federal companies are in a special position because they combine the demands placed on industrial companies in terms of profitability and speed of change with the political framework and requirements of services of public interest.

The Federal Quantum Alliance is open to other federal companies that want to build up know-how themselves and can and would like to make a contribution.
