Partner: Federal Intelligence Service
The Federal Intelligence Service (German: “Bundesnachrichtendienst”, BND) is the German foreign intelligence service. The BND is tasked with collecting and analyzing the information required to gain knowledge about foreign countries that is of importance to the Federal Republic of Germany in terms of foreign and security policy. The BND informs the Federal Chancellery and the federal ministries within the scope of their responsibilities about the intelligence it has gained. This intelligence covers many areas of politics, business, the military, science and technology.
With the Forum Innovative Technologies (FIT), the BND has its own research and innovation division. As the methodical and technical innovation service provider in and for the Federal Intelligence Service, the FIT keeps a close eye on future trends. Through project-based research and development, the FIT develops innovative technical solutions for all areas of the BND. In doing so, the FIT works together with partners from industry and science.
